It was the rain,
And the thunder,
But the fire,
And the deep,
It was all around,
It was too far,
And it was so much,
But it felt so good,
And it took so much,
So much to never return,
But it helped,
And it eased,
The pain subsided,
And the burn faded,
It crept away,
And it felt so good,
But it really never ended,
It really never stopped,
And it took so long,
Just to see all this,
But it wasn't that hard,
It was good,
And it helped in the end,
It stopped time.
I could reflect,
I could see,
But not far enough,
And not too deep,
It never was,
And it never will be,
I'll always thirst,
Deep inside,
And always to long,
And always to question,
But always for answers,
It's all about loose ends,
And these things that hurt,
That we'll never understand,
And never comprehend,
It'll always bleed,
Deep inside,
And way, way down,
I always asked these folk,
What do I need?
Well, what is it?
Does it hurt?
But they never knew,
And I thought so, too,
But I forever did,
Even in young-days,
And I thought it was easy,
And I thought it came naturally,
But now I see,
And now I know,
It took forever ago,
And it lurked in corners,
Though I always knew...
It always fit like a glove,
So one day, I just called it "love".
